JANUARY - RESOLVE TO DO MORE
Want to make a change but not sure what to do? Why not resolve to do two hours of something new every week? Whether it's doing an after-school course, researching your future choices, attending a group at your local young people's centre, taking part in some sports or just going to the cinema, it could have a really good effect on your health and happiness. Government studies show that young people who take part in just two hours of structured activities go to achieve better outcomes and may be healthier and happier. So why not give it a whirl? Here's how:
- Visit Activities Oxfordshire.com
- Search for an activity you're interested in, e.g. tennis or street dance, or;
- Search for activites near you, e.g. in Didcot or Marston
- When you find something you like the look of, contact the activity by phone or email with any questions and to check times
- Go along! For added fun, take a friend.
- Remember, the first time you go to any new activity, you should get your parent or another relative or trusted adult to take you there and pick you up afterwards. More about safety.
GETTING OUT AND ABOUT
Getting around Oxfordshire can be a challenge if you're short of a lift or don't have much money.
On the transport pages of Spired.com, you can find links and advice to help you get around, and get home again afterwards.
And don't assume that you have to get to Oxford to have any fun, either; there's plenty going on in the rest of the county.
