MARCH - GET ACTIVE, GET HEALTHY
With the days getting longer and the weather improving, it's the perfect time to get out and get active. If sport is your thing, why not see if you can find a local sports club or centre that suits you? If you're starting to think about outdoor activities, orienteering, canoeing and camping, try contacting your local scouts or guides, you can search for local groups on Activities Oxfordshire. If you're more interested in wildlife and conservation, then there are plenty of opportunities to get do your bit; why not see if there's a green gym near you (there's one in Abingdon!) or search for environment in the Do it database to find out about green volunteering opportunities near you.
Find an activity : the basics
- Visit Activities Oxfordshire.com
- Search for an activity you're interested in, e.g. tennis or street dance, or;
- Search for activities near you, e.g. in Didcot or Marston
- When you find something you like the look of, contact the activity by phone or email with any questions and to check times
- Go along! For added fun, take a friend.
- Remember, the first time you go to any new activity, you should get your parent or another relative or trusted adult to take you there and pick you up afterwards. More about safety.
GETTING OUT AND ABOUT
Getting around Oxfordshire can be a challenge if you're short of a lift or don't have much money.
On the transport pages of Spired.com, you can find links and advice to help you get around, and get home again afterwards.
And don't assume that you have to get to Oxford to have any fun, either; there's plenty going on in the rest of the county.
