Introduction
What is the Survival Guide?
Welcome to the Young People’s Survival Guide, almost 200 pages of useful information for young people. It's updated every year, the current edition (2010) was published in October 2009.
The Survival Guide covers many of the things you need to know about growing up. But it doesn’t tell you what to do. Instead, it spells out your options so that you can
make informed decisions. It also lists hundreds of organisations where you can get
help, information and support.
The Survival Guide is a book given to Year 11 students in Oxfordshire. This online version contains some of the same information, as well as pages developed especially for the website.
Many young people in Oxfordshire are involved in producing the Survival Guide. They wrote case studies, interviewed their friends, took photographs and advised us on everything from look to contents. If you'd like to be involved in producing next year's Survival Guide, get in touch.
