Programme

Youth mentoring scheme - Office Hours Mon-Fri
Emotional and practical support to individual young people on a wide range of issues. Call: Anne on: 07944 833317 for info.
Cans Girls only group - Monday 6pm-8pm
Come along and have some fun. Activities, fun stuff and the opportunity to explore issues that affect young women today.
Judo, Karate -Mon 7-8pm, 8-9.30pm
Judo self defence class, Karate self defence class. For more information call Mike James on 01235 202507.
Tuesday night club TNC - Tue 7-9pm (term time only)
A group for young people with learning difficulties and disablities aged 18-25. The project is now run by Integrated Youth Support Services until summer 2010. We are seeking funding to continue this service in the future.
Abingdon Motorbike Project Wednesday 4:30pm -6:30pm
Come and learn all about offroad bike maintenance and riding with Giles, CJ, Alice and Tom. Call 01235 521469 for more details.
Buddies 2 - Wednesdays 7-9pm (term time only)
Youth club for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities. Activities, trips out, and much more. 11-17 years. Contact Hailey on: 01869 252905 in office hours.
Thursday Junior Youth Club - Thu 4.30-6.30pm
Regular junior youth club, with pool, games, tuck and the usual stuff plus trained youth workers on hand if you need someone to talk to. 50p entrance. Ages Year 7, 8 and 9.
Thursday Senior Youth Club - Thu 7.30 - 9.30pm
Regular Senior youth club, with pool, games, Activities, tuck and the usual stuff plus trained youth workers on hand if you need someone to talk to. 50p entrance
Age Year 10 +!
Youth club with creative focus - Fri 6-8pm (except 2nd and last Friday of month)
Youth club sessions with a focus on film, music, arts etc. with tuck and the usual stuff plus trained youth workers on hand if you need someone to talk to. Chill out or try out new stuff or improve your skills. 50p.

Second Friday of the month, check out Myspace or Facebook for gig info, bookings and more.

What sports - you decide! We will support you with a range of sports activities, plus a youth worker on hand if you want a chat about anything. Year 7+. 50p Entrance.
Sunday Cinema and Chill Sessions - Sunday 6-8pm
A mature club to finish the weekend, more stilton than cheddar! Everyone welcome but an emphasis on chilled music, smoothies and friendly discussion. If you're hyper, this isn't the session for you. Friendly youth workers on hand to Support, Inform, Listen, Advise, Guide - or just chill with!! Year 8+, 50p.

Had a tough weekend? Relationship troubles? Information, Advice and Guidance with health issues. Support with Emergency Contraception, Safety Card scheme, and access to drugs support. For emergencies call in anytime to talk to a youthworker.

Regular and special events include Abingdon Youth Club - Junior and Senior, Weekend Clubs, Abingdon Youth music and Arts Club , CANS girls group, Super Sunday activities and The Sunday Cinema and Chill Sessions. Also on the weekends there are Judo, Karate and self defence classes. The NET also runs the Safetycard (c-card) scheme we are always here to help whenever the centre's open.

Information, Advice and more

Check out our new Hints library in reception for information, advice and guidance, or if you want a bit more support, visit our colleagues in Abingdon Connexions Centre, just a few streets away. We can also help with referrals to other services like mentoring, E2E and more and hold lots of information about all sorts of things. Whatever the issue, drop in for a chat.

Band, gigs and Music @ The Net

Band Gigs are the last Friday of every month. Regular parties are run on the second Friday of every month. If you're interested DJing, VJing, MCing, come along and get involved on our creative Fridays!

Rock at the Net

As well as being a popular venue for bands from Abingdon and beyond, the NET offers practice space with drum kit, amps and PA and a variety of music projects to get involved in, including MC-ing and DJ-ing, dance and recording. Room 101/Counterpart Studio is The Net's rehersal room. Features include: Yamaha Stage Custom Drum Kit. Marshall guitar amps. Fender bass amp. Vocal P.A. And a safe place to practice. The NET is also a hub for other services working with Young People in the Abingdon area, and a great place to hear about the stuff on offer to young people locally. You can also get involved in local decision making, and in deciding the sort of things that go on at the centre.
